Why didn’t you report your injuries?

Georgia’s Workers’ Compensation Act provides employees with certain benefits after suffering an injury at work.

If you get injured at work in Georgia, you typically have 30 days to report the injury to your employer. If you don’t, you may lose out on recovering compensation and the proper treatment you need to get better.

So, why don’t most employees report their injuries?

  1. They don’t know they should be reporting their injuries.

  2. They’re afraid they’ll lose their job.

  3. They think the incident was too minor to document.

  4. They don’t know the steps for reporting a workplace injury.

  5. Pressure from management & coworkers.

Understand your workplace rights and responsibilities. Your employer’s workers’ compensation coverage provides for your medical treatment and time missed from work if you were injured on the job.  However, failure to promptly and properly report your work injury could jeopardize your right to workers’ compensation benefits.

Call (404) 841-9400 to make sure your rights are protected as you report your injury and file a workers’ compensation claim.
